Top Ten New Librarians 2007

In June, Love Libraries launched a competition to find ten inspiring individuals who have entered into a new career in public libraries, and are making a difference with their fresh and enterprising ideas.

Our search efforts have paid off, as we have found ten new librarians who are transforming our public library service with their creativity, commitment and enthusiasm.

The ten award winners attended a development day held at the Manchester Museum, where they engaged in exercises and discussions to help them further develop their creativity. Their positive and enthusiastic contributions to national policy will help library services look to the future and influence the wider public library debate.

The Top Ten New Librarians have set up a virtual network to continue the exchange of ideas between them and help to spread new initiatives and innovations for further improving public library services.
