Love Libraries Award 21 May 07

The search is on to find libraries who are offering the best services for young people!

Many libraries across the country are finding new and exciting ways to attract us into the library to find out about all the great things they have to offer.

These are just some of the fantastic services now on offer:

* chill out zones with the latest books, magazines, newspapers and music
* reading groups to share views on the latest books
* famous author visits
* poetry writing workshops
* café area’s to meet with friends
* fast internet access and wi-fi facilities
* read dating where you can meet with others to discuss your favourite books
* listening posts for music and talking books
* music gigs

Are any of these services making a difference in your library, for you, your friends and relatives?

Has your library recently introduced a new service for you to enjoy? Were you involved in the design of the new service?

Have the staff in your library asked you about the types of things you, your friends and family would like to see in the library?

Do you think your library deserves to be nominated for an award!?

If the answer is yes, then we would love to hear from you!

To tell us about the service, please email info@lovelibraries.co.uk. Or next time you are in your local library, why not ask a member of staff if they are planning on entering the award.

If you work in a library and would like to nominate a service you are offering, please visit www.lovelibraries.co.uk/lovelibrariesaward to download the full entry pack.

The deadline for nominations is 29 June.

Love Libraries will be announcing a shortlist of finalists in August, when you will have the opportunity to vote for your favourite service. To ensure you don’t miss out on the chance to vote, register your details on the Sign Up section of the site to receive further details about the finalists http://www.lovelibraries.co.uk/signup.php
