Reading Borough Libraries

“I love being part of a public space and organisation which people can use in so many ways, for help, relaxation and enjoyment. Libraries are important because no-one else offers access, help, inspiration and education to everyone, without asking for anything in return.”

“ Being a top 10 Young Librarian has validated and allowed me to build on my core beliefs in equality and access to libraries for everyone, and I have been able to put these principles into practice in my new library position in Harrow ”

“ Since entering the competition I have taken up a new job as Branch Librarian, Kenton Library, Harrow Council. I have responsibility for the stock, staff and the building. Day to day this involves ordering and maintaining the book stock, helping members of the public find books and information, helping people get to grips with ICT and welcoming lots of children to the library - Kenton is the busiest children's library in the borough. We aim to make sure that the experiences people have here are good ones! ”
